For the 6th year anniversary of his death, the Food for ya Soul collective, the silkscreen print Do the Right Print studio & the label Feelin Music came together around a common project in memory of J-Dilla. The Do The Dilla concept is born. The idea is to bring together different artists to work and perpetuate J-Dilla’s art in order to give the audience a new visions of Dilla’s creations. A selection of beatmakers from across the world, as well as FFYS, DTRP & Feelin Music members worked for free to create a record containing Jaydee’s classics remixed.

We posted his Jay-z mixtape a few months ago and the response was great! This time around he puts together a mixtape for Valentines Day. Happy Valentines Day to you and yours, people who aren’t a fan of this day just check the next post ha.

It’s been 3 years since I did a Valentine’s mix but I felt compelled to do something this year because the ideas were coming. When the ideas come, I stop everything I do and get cracking and man, I’m so happy I did. I love this mix and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I have been. It’s kinda cool to enjoy your own mixtape days before maybe thousands of people would. I got to warn the fans though – if you need that hardcore hip-hop in your life, go get my other mixtapes. This is for people who aren’t shy about how much they love Miguel, Janet and even H-Town. In case that’s not your thing, I’d still suggest you take a listen because it’s still really creative, musical DJing with a lot of thought and tricks.

Rest in Peace Whitney Houston, sad it had to be another legendary artist who has died from drugs and alcohol. The world appreciated her voice and what she has contributed to music. February 11, 2012,

Whitney Houston died this afternoon … a rep for the singer told the Associated Press.

According to our sources, Houston died at the Beverly Hilton hotel. A police crime lab vehicle was seen outside the hotel just moments ago (see below).

Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. Her album “Whitney” was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 million albums world wide.

Houston holds an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Grambling State University in Louisiana.

Houston had one child, Bobbi Kristina, with husband Bobby Brown. Houston and Brown were married from 1992-2007.

A star is born. I’m surprised Hov and Beyonce have shared pictures of their baby this quick! But I think everyone was curious of how Blue Ivy Carter looked like. These are some amazing pictures. Earlier today I talked about how Jay and Beyonce trademarked their daughter’s name and today they release pictures of their child. I hope it’s not to try to make a business of her daughter…but who am I to judge? Check out these amazing pictures.

Update: After a discussion with a friend, I realize that it’s a smart move on her parents to release these pictures. If they wanted to keep Blue Ivy a secret just think of how crazy paparazzi would go to try to get a picture and whoever got the first pictures would probably get a lot of money for the premier. So by Hov and B releasing the pictures first they prevent that situation…smart move.
