We featured Beats From The Basement Vol.1 and we loved it! I couldn’t wait until Vol.2 was released and here it is for your listening enjoyment. The momentum of Volume One definitely carries throughout the tape. With this project, a continuation of the first, I tried to put it together in a way that would give listeners a consistent sound to vibe to, even if its the first time hearing my sound. I wanted to showcase more of my range and much like the Volume One , each track is fairly short, roughly two minutes. I did this so that the average listener doesn’t fall asleep listening to a dragged out instrumental. I believe the instrumentals are only half the track. That being said, I also kept the MCs/ Lyricists in mind with the production of this tape, offering short tracks for imaginations to flow.

CALiPH released his debut album on Tuesday. This dude is a super talented rapper/singer from the GTA.

Talented and charismatic artist, CALiPH, released his much anticipated debut album on January 24th, 2012. The Resignation quickly climbed the iTunes Top Hip Hop/Rap Album charts peaking at #23 on its first day of release. The groundbreaking 16 tracks on the album are composed of melodies originating from old-school Soul, smooth R&B, and classic Hip Hop/Rap. Diverse is under-rating the versatility of the tracks on The Resignation. Featuring production from Rich Kidd, M-Phazes, Boonie Mayfield, OB Keys, Izzy The Kidd, JusaMelody, East.Boro Productions, Chemist Productions and Martin Lloyd along with appearances from L., Lisa Banton, Nicole Edwards and DL Incognito. The BC-born artist, CALiPH, released his first mixtape, Music & Me, in March of 2009. The success of the project garnered recognition from various media outlets and let to a string of multiple local performances. CALiPH’s first official single, Dedicated, was released in late 2010. The recording generated a wave of online interest and was featured on a variety of major Hip Hop blogs. It also received rotation on various radio stations including Toronto’s #1 urban station Flow 93.5. The single would also be featured on the 2011 Stylus Awards Who’s Got Next compilation album and won for “Best New Hip Hop” at the Barrie New Music Festival.

CALiPH will be performing tracks from his debut album, The Resignation, on Friday, January 27th, 2012 at Caprice located 185 Main St. South in Newmarket. Having performed showcases and several shows for unsigned artists this past year, CALiPH is ready to set the tone for his rising career with upcoming performances and appearances for The Resignation in the Toronto area.

It’s my new radio show! Well, it’s my only radio show. In fact, it’s not on the radio, so, it’s not really a radio show at all. A podcast? I like saying Radio Show more. Tarzan Dan never had a podcast. So…It’s a radio show. My Radio Show!

The Unknown.

I called my radio show The Unknown because I plan to tell you shit that’s unknown to you. Originally, it was going to be an hour of my favourite songs. But after a conversation with Orin Isaacs, who’s producing the show, we came up with something a bit better. I realized there’s already one Ryan Seacrest. And he’s gorgeous. Why try to step on his toes? I’d rather step on my own toes.

Each episode will feature two songs. Two songs by two artists that inspire me. Along with those songs, I tell the story of said inspiration. That, and lots of laser sounds! Radio is full of laser sounds!

I’m nervous about it. Excited. Nervous excitement! You have no idea how hard it is to read out loud. Not an easy task. I can rap for long periods of time. With ease. But reciting from a notebook page? Hard as fu*k! I hope you don’t think it sucks!

A bit late in posting this mixtape but better late than never. One of the hardest working artists from the Forest City Richie Blackz just released his mixtape La Vie. I have to give props to Richie and his team on the work they have been putting in on a consistent basis.
