[EP] DJ Soko – Mello Music Group 7″ Series #4

DJ Soko of Mello Music Group (the other MMG you should know about) recently dropped the MMG 7″ Series #4, a 2-track release featuring “Stand Up” and “Biters”. Produced by Apollo Brown and featuring Guilty Simpson and Hassaan Mackey, “Stand Up” is a head-nodding throwback to 90s-era hip-hop. “Biters”, also featuring Guilty Simpson and produced by Gensu Dean, has a laid-back, golden-era feel. DJ Soko’s choice of cuts on both tracks is perfect. Stream and download both tracks below.

[Audio] Ab-Soul ft. Kendrick Lamar – “ILLuminate” (Prod: Skhye Hutch)

ILLuminate is the latest from TDE members Ab-Soul & Kendrick Lamar, featured off Ab-Soul’s upcoming Control System project, which releases May 11. Bars from both artists are on point, exactly the type of introspective verses I’ve come to expect from the two, great music from the TDE camp.

Also, if you havent, Check out our interviews with Ab-Soul & Kendrick Lamar from last year. Check back for Control System when it releases & till then enjoy ILLuminate below.

“I put everything into this record. I said I was going to do everything I wanna do and say everything I wanna say.” – Killer Mike

Spin recently caught up with Killer Mike to talk about his latest offering, the politically-charged R.A.P. Music, set to drop May 15th. Mike Bigga took the time to break down each song on the album. Stream R.A.P. Music and read the track breakdowns here. This album BANGS! Props to Luke McCormick of Spin for the interview.

[Audio] ScHoolboy Q & TiRon – “Love Me Not” (Prod: Chuck Inglish)

TDE member ScHoolboy Q recently teamed up with fellow Los Angeles artist TiRon for “Love Me Not”. On “Love Me Not”, ScHoolboy Q and TiRon rap about desire and relationships over Chuck Inglish’s synthy, minimalist production. It’s exciting to see these two work together, as I’ve been a fan of TiRon for awhile now and ScHoolboy Q has been getting some huge buzz. Once again, Chuck Inglish solidifies his beatmaking status as one of the go-to producers right now. Stream and download “Love Me Not” below.

[Album] Devin Miles – “This Is How I Live”

When you think of Pittsburgh and Hip-Hop, you think Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa. Up and coming rapper and producer, Devin Miles, is looking to add his name into that mix. ID Labs studio in Pittsburgh is where all the magic happens for Mac, Wiz and Devin. The newest project to come out of the lab is Devin’s This Is How I Live, a full-length album that is available for free of charge. The 11 track album includes production from the likes of Cardo, Chase N. Cashe and ID Labs. I’ve been bumping this album non-stop since I got my hands on it, so I suggest you do the same and experience the Pittsburgh natives talents for yourself. Get a feel for the album with a few of my early favourites below and I’m sure you’ll be hitting the download link in no time.

[Audio] Meek Mill ft. Big Sean – “Burn” (Prod: Jahlil Beats)

Meek Mill and Big Sean teamed up for “Burn”, a G.O.O.D. Music x MMG collaboration that will appear on Big Sean’s upcoming mixtape as well as Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers 2. Best part about this one? The production. That being said, Meek Mill steps up to the plate as well. Stream and download “Burn” below.

[Audio] Nipsey Hussle ft. Rick Ross – “Proud Of That” (Prod: Jiggy Hendrix)

Nipsey enlists the boss Rick Ross for his Jiggy Hendrix produced, “Proud of That”. Nipsey comes hard on this one delivering some dope rhymes touching on the struggles of his past and how far he’s come since then… and he’s proud of that. Rozay compliments Nipsey nicely and puts the finishing touches on this summer banger. No word yet on where this song will end up but I wouldn’t be surprised if it made the cut onto Nipsey’s upcoming iHussle LP. Stream and download below, turn this one up!

[Audio] The Weeknd – “Get In There”

The Weeknd Live in Concert in London, Ontario

This track is said to be the first ever recording for the enigmatic, 22 year old Toronto R&B artist. Recorded back in 2006/2007 (no firm date) Get In There isn’t far from what we’re used to hearing from The Weeknd. That’s not to say he hasn’t made substantial improvements with his music and finding his space, rather his vocal talents were on point even being only 16 or so when this was recorded. Check out the track below & let us know what your thoughts are about it!
