[Audio] D.O. ft. Rochester – “Shut It Down” (Prod: Jahronomo Inc.)

Fresh Fridays, y’all! D.O. just dropped this gem today in another Friday edition leading up to the May 15th release of Heavy In The Game, and this may be my favourite one yet. We already heard a preview of “Shut It Down” in the music video for “Small Town”, and now we get the full version. Both D.O.’s and Rochester’s verses are tight, but Rochester steals the show in this one for me with his Iverson punchlines. Jahronomo Inc. provides the horn-driven production for the two. Be on the lookout for Heavy In The Game coming soon. Stream and download “Shut It Down” below.

The track was supposed to release a couple weeks ago, but see for yourself that it was worth the wait. Stream I Don’t Like (Remix) below & let us know who had the best verse!

[Audio] Young Judah – “Need Some Sleep” (Prod: TellingBeatzz)

Young Judah is an up and coming rapper out of Toronto looking to make some noise with his track “Need Some Sleep”. The song can be found on his debut mixtape “No Looking Back”. The TellingBeatzz production features a smooth sample that compliments Judah’s flow and the emotions being portrayed in the track. “Need Some Sleep” is hopefully just the beginning of things to come for the young Toronto native. Listen and download below.

“Need Some Sleep” is the latest release and video single off Toronto hip hop artist Young Judah’s debut mixtape project “No Looking Back,” which dropped last February. Judah’s powerful lyricism and aggression have made quick fans of those who have taken in his music, and he is already hard at work on a follow up project for summer 2012.

Be on the look out for new music and video’s coming from Young Judah very soon!

[Audio] Muneshine – “Lower Level” (Prod: Buckwild)

Last month Saskatoon/Toronto rapper and producer Muneshine released the promo video for his upcoming album, There Is Only Today. Here we have the first single off the album titled “Lower Level”. I’m really feeling Muneshine on this one as he spits over some Buckwild production with DJ Grouch on the cuts giving the track a bit of an old-school flare. Listen to the single below and be on the lookout for There Is Only Today coming on May 29.

The prolific Saskatoon-born, Toronto-based rapper/producer, is joining forces with Droppin Science to release his third studio album, There Is Only Today (May 29th, 2012).

There Is Only Today not only showcases Muneshine’s growth (and strength) as an MC (and producer), but also delivers with incredible production from Buckwild, DJ Spinna, !llmind, M-Phazes, Suff Daddy, Freddie Joachim, Bix, BoomBaptist, Jeff Spec and Shinogo.

While the sounds are familiar, we see Muneshine venturing in some exciting new, and more personal directions. He has also brought along some of today’s strongest contemporary artists, such as: Emilio Rojas, D-Sisive, Ghettosocks and more.

There Is Only Today is sure to be both a showpiece for Mune’s illustrious career and a serious payoff for his ever-patient loyal fans.

[Audio] Nas – “Daughters” (Prod: No I.D.)

Nas’ next single to his upcoming album Life Is Good, slated for a June 17 release, has just surfaced the web and it does not disappoint. The No I.D. produced track “Daughters” gives us insight into Nas’ life as a father and the difficulties that come with watching his daughter grow up. The first two singles from Life Is Good “Nasty” and “The Don” were both bangers, and now with the release of the third single it looks like June 17th is gonna be the start to a Nasir filled summer. Take a listen to “Daughters” below.

[Mixtape] SonReal – “Words I Said”

SonReal just dropped his highly-anticipated Words I Said mixtape today, and it does not disappoint. Once again, the Vancouver artist proves that he deserves to be taken seriously in the rap game, with complex rhyme schemes and just damn good rapping. Words I Said is 18 tracks long, and deep: not many filler tracks here. Early favourites are “Intro/No Not Really”, “Alone”, “Back Home”, “Celebrate”, the Muneshine-produced “Feel It”, and the Dilla-produced “I Know I Never Say This”. We also get an early leak of “Extra Extra”, off his upcoming Good News album, which goes hard. Check out the tracklist and stream/download Words I Said below.
