Wednesday or Trap Lord Wednesday, as some fans dubbed it, approached rather quickly from its reschedule date of November 19 to this past January 14th inside the Sound Academy. From the East Coast, Brooklyn’s own self proclaimed Trap Lord ASAP Ferg and from the West Coast, Compton’s YG finally brought their BestCoast Connection Tour to Toronto. If this was going to be anything to the caliber of any of Ferg’s prior shows fans were definitely in for a treat.

As one of Toronto’s most infamous venues gets set to close its doors, Brooklyn native Fabolous and Detroit’s new fresh face Dej Loaf will make their way to Toronto for the final hip hop concert inside Kool Haus. Presented by High Octane Entertainment the event will be hosted by some of the city’s elite nightlife emcees and will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2015. This is one show urban music fans will want to be in attendance for.

An immense line could be seen forming at the prominent music venue, Sound Academy where fans stood to cast their ticket to Enter the Void. The thirteen stop tour made its way to Toronto on Thursday, December 18, 2014 with Jhene Aiko, SZA, and The Internet who were set to put on a show that evening full of blissful melodies and slow rhythm music.

For the past couple years around the fall/winter season, Machine Gun Kelly makes his way across Canada on tour. Every year he comes up north, the shows get better and better. This being the first I was privy to going too, I knew I was in for a great night. You definitely get your money’s worth when going to an MGK show. The turn up is inevitable. The Cleveland, Ohio artist started to rise to success after releasing his project “100 Words and Running”. From 2010 to 2011 is when everything started to change for the better and the opportunities have been growing ever since. Canada definitely loves it when he hits the country to perform, social media goes crazy! Starting on the east coast of Canada and working his way west, MGK ends his tour in Ohio with four final shows before the holidays.

With the recent release of her debut album Souled Out and a guest on numerous tours including Drake’s OVO festival here in Toronto in August, it’s been quite the year for Jhené Aiko as she gets set to embark on a tour of her own! Thirteen cities, one of which will be Toronto on December 18, will have the pleasure of witnessing three great neo soul artists hit the stage as part of the Enter The Void tour. She will be joined by soul band and Odd Future Records signee The Internet as well as TDE’s first lady SZA for a blissful show that will have you caught up in every last one of your emotions from beginning to end.
