Yes, you read that correctly. In a scene straight out of Star Wars, the late rapper, who passed away in March last year, is set to perform at Coachella alongside Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre via hologram technology. Snoop and Dre will also be joined by Warren G, Kurupt, and Daz Dillinger. If this works out, this could open the door for a whole new future of hip-hop performances. All rescheduled shows in Canada for the Yelawolf show have been cancelled. Unfortunately Yelawolf’s past came back to haunt him and he has been denied entry into Canada. Letting his fans know via twitter that he will not be able to make it into the country, he made sure to let his Canadian fans know he is making every effort to make it to the great white north in the near future.
Tickets will be refunded at original point of purchase.
I made some mistakes when I was young and unfortunately they came back to bite me and stopped us from entering into Canada.

I love my Canadian fans and the great country of Canada and I’m taking all the steps to clear my record so this NEVER happens again.

Just signed Q-Tip to G.O.O.D. Music!!!!
— Kanye (@Kanye) April 12, 2012
Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label continues to pick up more of my favourite rappers, adding Q-Tip to their roster today. The Grammy award-winner and former ATCQ frontman is currently working on his fourth solo album, The Last Zulu. Tip joins recent signee Mos Def Yasiin Bey, along with Big Sean, John Legend, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, and Mr. Hudson. Q-Tip and Kanye have previously worked together on Ye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, as well as Watch The Throne. Said Q-Tip:
“I’m excited to be a part of the great iconic Def Jam label. I’m humbled to be a part of such a storied history. To reconnect with Barry Weiss (CEO of Island Def Jam and Universal Republic) is a great thing. As far as G.O.O.D. Music, I’m excited to solidify my working relationship with Kanye, and I look forward to all the opportunities that lie ahead in our partnership. I will do my best to present the most cutting edge music I can.”

We’ll keep you updated as the story develops…
Update: Sgt Basra said this in a statement:
“we responded to a report of a shooting inside the Music Hall. We have shut the area down — right now it’s a crime scene. Investigations are still ongoing. I have very little information on what’s gone on inside other than that there’s been a shooting and we have a person who has been taken to hospital.”
Second Update:

One of my favourites JD Era has chosen April 16, 2012 as the release date for his mixtape No Handouts. If you remember in our interview with JD Era and Raekwon this mixtape I believe will be what puts JD Era on the international stage. With Raekwon behind him and the buzz Era has building his whole career, it’s his time now. Pay attention world another superstar in the making.

“There is the man of yesterday, and the man of tomorrow. Time plays no part in the quickening of the spirit. The gate is ever open. Today is like all other days. There is only today.”
Saskatoon/Toronto rapper and producer Muneshine just released the promo video for his upcoming album, There Is Only Today. In the video, he talks about his recent East Coast Music Awards and Juno nominations, the recently completed Train of Thought tour with Ghettosocks, Timbuktu, and Jeff Spec, the meaning behind his album title, and his goal for the album. Keep on the lookout for more about There Is Only Today as it gets released, The Come Up Show will definitely be following its progress.

While at SXSW, the Brooklyn MC and former 106 & Park freestyle contestant announced that his next album, A Dream Deferred, will be released on September 18th this year. I’ve been a fan of Skyzoo since I heard The Salvation back in 2009, so I’m definitely excited for this. He also announced that leading up to A Dream Deferred, he’ll be dropping a mixtape called Theo vs. JJ: “Dreams vs. Reality”, which will pick up where his previous mixtape, The Great Debater, left off. Check out his interview from SXSW with 2DB and TheWellVersed below, and check out the video for “Written In The Drums”, off The Great Debater. Photo credit to The Smoking Section.
