Look out for our interview with Naturally Born Strangers coming very soon. Congratulations once again to the whole Legends League team, Rich Kidd, Tona, Adam Bomb, Addy and the whole team. Over 700 people attended this show which is pretty rare in terms of attendance when it comes to local talent. I unfortunately missed out on their performance (my best friend forgot their ID) I hope that this does develop into a tour though. Request Naturally Born strangers to perform in your city! In the meantime check the photography by CZR-E for The Come Up Show.
It was November 9, 1993 that Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) made its debut to the world and 20 years later it’s touted as one of the greatest hip hop albums ever. The celebration wouldn’t have been the same if Wu-Tang Clan hadn’t reunited on stage and we’ve seen few select dates in 2013. Toronto was one of those lucky cities to witness the legendary group live minus Rza and Masta Killa. Our reviewer Colton couldn’t see the show because of circumstances beyond our control but we did manage to get access for our photographer Danielle Da Silva to capture a couple of flicks.
Check out the photos of the opening acts such as Peter Jackson, Trinity Chris, Gangis Khan, and the headlining act The Wu-Tang Clan. Let me know what your experience of the show was like in the comment section.
While most Canadian emcees struggle to release an album, Sese is on his second album in 2013. The first presentation was Age of Aquarius in March and just before the year wraps up he announces the Sayzor Ramone EP due December 6, 2013. You can expect collaborators like Luu Breeze on the album who is currently on the Live In Concert Tour with Sese, G Milla and special guests. I’m hosting the London date on the 29th of November reach! Read the full press release below and the EP is available for pre-order right now on bandcamp.
Toronto, ON – The theme music starts… And, the roar from the fans rolls like a tide through the stadium. The ring announcer starts, “Introducing, from St. Catherines, Ontario weighing 287 pounds… The Bad Guy, SAYZOR RAMONE! For Aristo Music Group recording artist Sese (Pronounced Say-Zee) channeling over the top charisma, brash lady’s man bravado and technical skills to put him a cut above the rest comes as second nature. The parallels between he and his favourite wrestler the WWF’s Rayzor Ramone character are endless on his new 8-Track offering aptly-titled, “Sayzor Ramone.” “I just [really] wanted to embody that charisma he had. He was all about the ladies and dressing the best, but on top of that he was a top competitor and his talent overshadowed his cocky bravado,” says Sese of his new collection. Giving fans and music lovers a high energy ringside like experience is heard throughout the offering. “I just wanted to make a cohesive project. I wanted it to be high energy, and it to embody that feeling of stepping into the ring, the crowd, the lights, the theme. I wanted it to feel very over the top… No Royale Rumble.” Boasting a mix of some frequent collaborators, and the introduction to some new sound masters, “Sayzor Ramone” flows from top to bottom. With features from Luu Breeze and Hardbody. And, production from Jayze, 2oolman, Superville, The Workx and UTVMG in-house producer Jmakbeatz the sounds are bass heavy and high impact. Currently on the “Live In Concert Tour” with Luu Breeze and G MILLA, Sese continues to bring his high energy approach to fans across the nation. Be sure to look out for Sese in a city near you.

For the past few years Detroit rapper, Danny Brown has put in a continuous effort to get into Canada and has been unsuccessful. That all changed last night at the Danforth Music Hall where Danny Brown embraced Toronto with NY’s Queens rapper Action Bronson kicking off the show. Here are all the photos taken by our photographer Eddy Rissling, make sure to check out a quick recap review of the Mac Miller concert this past week. We also interviewed Mac Miller last year talking about his album Watching Movies With The Sound Off. Did you go to the concert? What did you think? Most feedback I’ve heard is that people had a fabulous time, I’m curious to know what you think.
After confirming his third studio album would be pushed back another week and will now be released on September 24, Drake has unveiled the artwork for the standard and deluxe versions of Nothing Was The Same. Designed by Kadir Nelson, the standard cover portrays Drake as a child while the alternative deluxe cover illustrates Drizzy nowadays. The Toronto rapper also announced earlier today that he will be performing this Sunday at the 2013 MTV VMA’s in Brooklyn. What do you think of the artwork? Let us know in the comments section.
If you’ve been following me or @thecomeupshow on twitter this past weekend then you know I’ve been in Toronto since Thursday night. The main reason for coming down was to support Rich Kidd for his album In My Opinion release party. Having been to countless Rich Kidd shows, this was the first time I’ve been to a show for his mixtape/album. I’m glad I went because it was one of the best performances I’ve seen from Rich, bringing his mother on stage, his uncle pulling dance moves, The Airplane Boys performing Beau Monde, A Game and Luu Breeze performing Money Made Me Do It. I’m very inspired because Feel Good Music is being embraced and supported! HIT THE JUMP FOR THE FULL PICTURES, VIDEOS, AND ARTICLE!
Closing out this very special weekend, veteran Sean Price made his way to London on Sunday, April 21st as part of his Mic Tyson tour, as well to celebrate The Come Up Shows 6th anniversary. From the days of Heltah Skeltah’s 97’ Nocturnal release to all three of Bootcamp Clik’s albums and even as a solo artist with releases like Monkey Barz all the way to his present material Mic Tyson; Sean Price has been a topic of discussion amongst the hip-hop heads daily. Right after performing in St.Catharines the previous night, P took the stage at Rumrunners Music Hall fulfilling a lot of long awaited dreams of going to see Sean P live in the flesh. This past Friday on April 19th, marked the sixth year since The Come Up Show’s humble beginnings on 94.9 CHRW Radio. In celebration, an amazing line-up of artists took the stage at the Black Shire Pub and threw down what was no doubt an unforgettable night. As the doors opened for the upstairs section, the guests all hovered by the bar quickly grabbed their drinks and started crowding the stage as the final touches were done for the setup. With friends, fans and staff all in attendance, it already felt like a “get-together like” party and the night hadn’t even really begun yet. ANTHM just released the artwork for his upcoming Handful of Dust EP. If you’ve been following the Manhattan emcee on TCUS, you’ll know how excited I am for this project. His latest work features production by Blu, who’s proved his production skills in the past on Sene’s A Day Late & A Dollar Short. What’s got me even more excited, however, is the speculation of another collaboration between ANTHM, Blu, and Sene:
